Easily accessible from U.S. Route 1, it lies between the Kennebec River and Casco Bay in one of the nation’s most historically significant and scenically beautiful coastal areas.

The town name Phippsburg was named after Sir William Phipps who became the royal governor of Massachusetts in the late 1600’s.
