Anson, MaineAnson, Maine is a heavily forested, rural community approximately 45 square miles in area. Anson contains two small commercial villages – Anson Village and North Anson. Anson was first settled in 1772 by Major John Moor, who was a veteran in the Battle of Bunker Hill. Moor built many mills in the area. Anson was named after Lord George Anson of England in 1798.
