Located on the southeastern edge of Aroostook County, Amity, Maine is approximately 100 miles northeast of Bangor, along the banks of Monument Stream. Amity was first settled by Jonathan Clifford in 1825. He was followed soon after by Edmund Cone and Seth Farrer. There was no road into Amity until 1827.
