Project Puffin Visitor Center
311 Main Street, Rockland, ME • Ph: 207-478-3346
Project Puffin Visitor Center was created by Dr. Stephen Kress in 1973 for the rehabilitation and preservation of Puffin and other sea bird populations to their natural nesting grounds in the Maine islands. The project has been a grand success and illustrates the effects the overall health the ocean has on bird populations and coastal wildlife. Visitors can learn about the Audubon’s continuing efforts on Maine’s Islands, and support Maine Puffins while having fun by adopting a Puffin or taking a Puffin watch boat tour.
